The Denise Krammer Trio brings on stage a fantastic journey across the cultural diversity of Brazilians music. The program ranges from classic samba and bossa nova over forró, baião, afoxé, maracatu and other popular and traditional Brazilian rhythms up to own compositions with influences of jazz and blues.
The members of the trio are Denise Krammer (guitar/vocals), Victor Lourenço (cavaquinho/vocals) and Chris Quade Couto (percussion/vocals).
Denise Krammer is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. Grown up in western Brazil, in 2005 she moved to Rio de Janeiro, to study singing at Brazils most renowned University for Brazilian popular music. After studying abroad in Sweden, she completed her Bachelor degree in "Música Popular Brasileira". As a singer Denise toured with her music program across Brazil and performed in the bars and concert halls of Rio de Janeiro. Whether with a BigBand or in smaller ensembles - Denise established successfully with numerous music projects in the music scene of Rio. In 2011 she released her second studio CD. Throughout her career she won a great number of prizes and awards for her music and worked for 2 years in a row as a judge of the Carnival in Rio for the criteria "Samba Enredo".
Since May 2013 Denise Krammer lives and works in Cologne and completes her Masters in Jazz singing.
Victor Lourenço is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist from Belém do Pará, who plays guitar, cavaquinho, bass, violão de 7 cordas, percussion, sings and composes. Son of a military, he moved houses across the whole country 7 times during the first 18 years of his life, which enabled him to get to know various Brazilian cities and cultures. During one of these stops in Parnaíba no Piauí his passion for the guitar started. At the age of 20 he was already living in Rio de Janeiro where he realized his first big shows playing bass. In the same year Victor traveled to Portugal where he played his first solo concerts "Voz e violão", which made him decide to fully concentrate on music and become a professional musician. During almost 10 year of his career he played concerts in numerous countries, taught in schools and private lessons, created a video channel of his own compositions, composed soundtracks for theaters and movies, won a national music award and released a studio CD.
Currently Victor lives in Gelsenkirchen, where he works as a freelance musician, composer and teacher of guitar and cavaquinho.
Chris Quade Couto specialized on Brazilian percussion with only the age of 15. During his youth he attended intensive courses in Brazilian and Cuban music, played in different percussion formations, founded and directed the samba school "Unidos de Colônia" in Cologne and played percussion in various band projects.
Today he is a musical director of "Bloco X", singer and percussionist of the forró trio "Capangas", since 2004 he plays at "Unidos da Tijuca" (winner of the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro in 2010, 2012 and 2014) and other samba schools in Rio and is endorser for instruments of the brand "Contemporânea". Chris works as a freelance musician and teacher of Brazilian percussion, as a producer for cultural events and a member of the board of the twinning association "Cologne-Rio e.V.". In addition, Chris is internationally known for his high class samba percussion workshops.
